Kevin Harris has spent over a decade advising political leaders, nonprofits and corporations, and has advised more than 50 campaigns for federal, state and local office and various ballot initiatives focused on criminal justice reform, economic empowerment, education funding and civil rights. Kevin is an expert at earned media and strategic communications. He has held senior positions on the past four presidential campaigns and served in the Obama Administration helping to direct outreach to state and local governments, steer passage of major legislative packages, and guide strategic communications for high-profile Administration priorities.

Previously, Harris served as Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus, Senior Adviser to the Bi-partisan Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth and Director of Communications and Policy to Rep. Karen Bass.
In local government, Harris served as Deputy Mayor for Public Affairs for former Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake and Communications Director for Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

In the private sector, Harris has helped to launch four successful public affairs and management firms. Harris has completed professional fellowships focused on foreign affairs, public policy and crisis management as well as served on the boards of various non-profits. Additionally Harris has worked as a freelance journalist covering policy and politics.

He received his B.A. from Howard University, an M.A in Government from Johns Hopkins University, and Executive Certificates in Business, Social Work and Public Policy from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University School of Social Work and the Yale University School of Management.
